Czy korzystam z AI? Oczywiście, że korzystam. Zbiera dla mnie informacje. Jak inaczej osoba z moim wykształceniem, biologicznym, mogłaby pisać książki historyczne? No, nawet fikcję historyczną...
Wieki temu, żeby zebrać wiedzę do napisania książki, trzeba było przemierzyć setki kilometrów między klasztorami, które były jednocześnie bibliotekami.
Potem ludzie zaczęli gromadzić książki w bibliotekach ogólnodostępnych, aby autorzy mogli sobie w nich grzebać do woli. Później jeszcze zrodził się Internet i biblioteki internetowe - wydawało się przez chwilę, że łatwiej być nie może.
A teraz mamy AI, które zbiera dla nas informacje - tylko od nas zależy jak ich użyjemy w końcowej publikacji. Czy to będzie copy paste całości, akapitu, zdania, czy może po przeczytaniu dostarczonego tekstu, przetrawimy go, przetworzymy, ubierzemy we własne słowa i styl.
U mnie to wygląda właśnie tak, choć zdarza mi się kłócić z AI o szczegóły i zwykle po sprawdzeniu okazuje się, że mam rację.
Zdarza mi się też użyć zdanie, które AI wymodziło bardzo zgrabnie i nie widzę szansy, aby napisać to lepiej. Więc tak, posługuję się AI I się tego nie wstydzę. Tak jak nie wstydzę się 49 tomów Britanniki, z których też korzystam, ani słowników gwar i językowych, i synonimów... To są tylko narzędzia.
Jestem fanem stosowania narzędzi, najlepiej zgodnie z ich przeznaczeniem.

Do I use AI? Of course I do. It gathers information for me. How else could someone with my background—in biology—write history books? Well, historical fiction, that is... Centuries ago, to gather the knowledge needed to write a book, one had to travel hundreds of kilometres between monasteries, which also served as libraries. Then people began to collect books in public libraries so that authors could rummage through them to their heart’s content. Later, the Internet and online libraries emerged – for a moment, it seemed things couldn’t get any easier. And now we have AI that gathers information for us – it’s entirely up to us how we use it in the final publication. Will it be a copy-paste of the whole text, a paragraph, a sentence, or perhaps, after reading the text provided, will we digest it, process it, and clothe it in our own words and style? For me, that’s exactly how it works, though I do sometimes argue with the AI over details, and usually, after checking, it turns out I’m right. I also sometimes use a sentence that the AI has crafted very neatly, and I can’t see any way I could write it better. So yes, I use AI, and I’m not ashamed of it. Just as I’m not ashamed of the 49 volumes of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, which I also use, or of dialect and language dictionaries, or thesauruses... These are just tools. I’m a fan of using tools, preferably for their intended purpose.
